Warmth & mountain charm.

Nestled along the quiet bends of the Gale River, the house invites travelers to pause, breathe, and rediscover the wonder of wandering.
Each room whispers a story — a pressed flower in a drawer, a journal sketch by the window, a map tracing forgotten trails. It's a gentle invitation to slow down, explore deeply, and feel part of the landscape itself.

A basecamp for people who came here to do something.
Hike Franconia Ridge. Ski Cannon. Climb, ride, run, skin, explore. Wilder Outpost exists to make that day easier — and to give you somewhere worth coming back to when it's done.
We borrowed the social life of a very good hostel — communal tables, spontaneous conversation, people working alongside each other — and kept private rooms, real beds, real showers and a door you park in front of. The commons is the product: kitchen and bar, a self-serve market, a fireplace, trail maps and a weather board by the door.

Home is where you park it.
A four-day loop through New Hampshire's high country. Arrive at Gale River House and sleep in a real bed, then take the wheel of a fully outfitted Jeep Gladiator — rooftop tent, slide-out kitchen, everything checked and packed before you roll out.
Three camps, three towns, one triangle through the mountains. Each leg is an hour or two of road, so the days belong to trails, swimming holes and a fire under dark skies. On the final morning you drive back to where you started and hand back the keys — we handle the cleanup.
